Jira and Confluence Darkmode extension Features
Customizes Atlassian theme to Dark Mode
Dark mode for Jira Cloud and Confluence Cloud
Jira is so far finished as I haven’t ran into any new bugs.
Confluence is a constant struggle as they are changing the website and it’s code for their future implementation of their own dark mode. (It was a giant mess)
I will also be adding (when I figure out how) a button to disable the dark mode and re-enable it with a button on the extension. I don’t actually know css or html so it’s a learning curve lol.
Current Build: 2.5
Feel free to use the “Contact the developer” method to submit any bugs you may find! I try and update it asap, but google sometimes takes a few days to publish my fixes
Some edit pages still show white backgrounds. Slowly working through them and re-building.
Finally figured out why some comments on Jira were being blacked out. If you had clicked on a notification it would bring you to a “Focused Comment” and the value for it was overlapping the text. Fixed it by making that specific thing transparent until I can find a better way to change it.
Fixed Side Bar color mis-match
Fixed some charts have discoloration.
They broke it right after I updated it. Changed a few more values to fix the backgrounds -.- (I swear they are watching me)
Completely rebuilt the confluence dark mode from scratch and removed the div being transparent as I found an alternate method.
SO APPARENTLY they are in the process of rebuilding their confluence website which is why things are breaking so quickly. I saw last year that had plans for their own version of Dark Mode and looking at all their changes in their own code it looks like they are adding easier functionality for them to change colors and the such on their end.
They changed the buttons up top again making them white. Changed them to #444.
I think I’ve ironed out almost all the bugs (that I have access to as a Support Desk user) I can see.
Fixed more bugs with hovering and element value changes by Atlassian.
Atlassian decided to just change a bunch of values for things so I did a quick fix for a bunch of stuff.
Fixed the spacing on Page Preview Titles being sunk below the Description if the title was too long.
Fixed the spacing on Drop Down menus having way too much padding.
Fixed Page Title text color on the Following/Popular section on the Home page to be #fff.
Fixed Calendar padding error on Home page.
Changed Confluence Side Bar and other related elements to #222
Got rid of the double scroll on the Side Bar
Changed the In-Ticket side bar to #222
Changed Header to #222
Fixed text in in search bar to be white on a black background.
Removed Teal and Purple automatic colorization of table charts in published and edit mode.
Increased spacing and changed header bar to #222.
Fixed transparency issues on Search page.
Fixed Transparency Issues on drop down menus
Fixed wrong colors
Fixed spacing on drop down menus
Fixed Jira browse and Issues pages not loading dark theme
Fixed Editing page not having dark mode.
Pictures in docs do not load, but will be there after a publish.
In conclusion, the process for modifying our browser’s behaviour to add the word count feature is unbelievably simple. In this regard, an extension not only solves a problem that we have but also adds a greater degree of functionality to the experience of using an Edge browser.
